Abstract

|
As we are living in an aging society, it is reasonable to think that the edentulous patients are increasing. There are numerous factors affecting the edentulous dentition, such as education level, social position, special care and oral hygiene. Among the increasing number of edentulous patients, a lot of patients are suffering because of extremely resorbed mandible. It is sometimes impossible to achieve adequate stability and retention in patients in this condition even with appropriate treatment. The result of conventional complete denture treatment for the edentulous patient is very disappointing. Overdenture supported by the implants placed between mental foramen is a good option in case of patients with unfavorable condition.
